John
T. Gorton is admitted to practice law in the State of New
York, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern
District of New York, and the United States District Court for the
Eastern District of New York. He graduated from St. John’s
Law School in 1984 and shortly thereafter rose to the position of
Tort Trial Specialist within the Special Litigation and Medical
Malpractice (SLAM) Unit of the Office of the Corporation Counsel
of the City New York. This unit consisted of specially selected
trial attorneys from within the Office of the Corporation Counsel
whose duties were to litigate the most serious personal injury cases
brought against the City of New York. After serving with distinction
for a number of years, John left to assume the senior trial partner
position with an insurance defense firm on Long Island. He is a
member of the New York State Bar Association, New York County Lawyers
Association and Nassau County Bar Association. John resides in Merrick,
New York with his wife Patricia, and three children, Sean, Katherine
and Kevin.
